Perched gracefully on the southern slope of the Onomichi City Museum of Art, The White Carpet Hill is a picturesque 2,000-square-meter terraced field that commands stunning views of Shigei Nishi Port in Innoshima-cho, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Nestled in the heart of the Seto Inland Sea—between the main Japanese islands of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu—this serene location preserves a unique slice of cultural and botanical heritage.

Since 1980, Kincho has collaborated with the local government to maintain this memorial Pyrethrum flower field. Once cultivated extensively on the island to produce the natural insecticide for mosquito repellent coils, the Dalmatian pyrethrum now flowers every year as a tourist attraction around Golden Week in May.

The Pyrethrum flowers are produced by the efforts and love of The Innoshima Pyrethrum Village Liaison Council and The Innoshima Flower Center. They engage in workshops and educational events, where visitors can explore the fascinating story of the Dalmatian pyrethrum and its legacy.
